Architecting Resilient MySQL & Drizzle Backends for High-Traffic Bangladeshi Apps
How we design connection-pooled MySQL databases with type-safe Drizzle ORM to handle heavy concurrent workloads smoothly.
When building applications in Bangladesh that interface with nationwide payment systems and mobile wallets, database stability under traffic spikes is non-negotiable.
Here is how our architecture team structures relational data:
1. Connection Pooling with mysql2
Direct single-connection instances fail under concurrent user spikes. We configure connection pooling with explicit wait timeouts and queue limits to prevent socket exhaustion.
2. Type Safety with Drizzle ORM
Unlike heavy ORMs that introduce runtime latency and hidden N+1 queries, Drizzle compiles directly to lightweight SQL queries while preserving complete TypeScript compile-time safety.
3. Indexing Strategy
Every foreign key and frequently filtered column (such as isActive, slug, and status) receives targeted B-tree indexes to maintain sub-5ms query response times.
Reliable data layers are the backbone of every serious software company.
